Development

I have knowledge in many areas of web development. From knowing the basics such as HTML and CSS to being able to develop both the back-end and front-end of a website using PHP and JQuery. Below are some examples of the work I have created.

KWEST

The KWEST website was built as part of a university project for a company in the public sector. As a group we had to create a bespoke room booking system and install it within a wordpress installation on their server. I was the lead developer and the client contact. The system was created using PHP, it also has a bespoke CMS for the booking system to allow KWEST to change room and option details, view reports such as profit from catering and change the companies email addresses. The website the system is only a template, this is the clients responsibility to populate.

This website was designed and built whilst I was at World Without Walls. I was tasked with the responsibility of taking the PSD design and converting it into a fully functional website while also dealing with any support requests. I also created a wordpress blog maintaining the current design. Finally I gave a demonstration to the clients before the website went live.

This website was designed and built by World Without Walls. I converted the news sections of the website into a WordPress blog. A snippet from the latest blog entry was also made to appear on the front page using PHP and XML from the RSS feed.

For this website, I updated all of the payment steps to include new functionality and new fields, this was mainly completed using PHP. I also created a page so that Brynteg Books could change the banner on the home page and the banners within the content. These banners would then rotate. This was built using PHP, XML and jQuery

I was also responsible for creating the language selector using jQuery with a PHP fall back. I also created the student blog using WordPress keeping the theme consistent to the rest of the website. Finally I was involved in creating the tests within the ‘Learn Online’ section.
